Askja

The idea of making transportable paper or wood rack. The idea is to bend the metal in asymmetric way to make more attention to the form, there is as well more wide in the one side. Where the material is cut before bending in a more cake shape.

 

The first and the biggest item in the collection is the Askja, light-weight storage for mag- azines or logs. Is inspired from Askja is a caldera situated in a remote part of the central highlands of Iceland. The name Askja refers to a complex of nested calderas within the surrounding Dyngjufjöll mountains, which rise to 1,510m, askja meaning box or caldera in Icelandic.
